Take a memorable Calgary Group Tours? It’s one thing to keep groups occupied while you’re on a class trip- it’s quite another to find attractions everyone can enjoy. Calgary’s got it covered. So Great Adventure Tours offer you the Calgary Group Tours Packages, Best Places to Visit in Calgary and much more.
Visit some of the places listed here, and you’ll all spend the day with smiles on your faces.
Like a good roller coaster? How about bumper cars? You’ll find both – and over 30 other rides – at Calaway Park. Once you’ve had your fill of twists and turns, you can settle back with a snack and watch some live entertainment, or try for a prize at some of the game booths. Student of all ages will love Butterfield Acres where they can get right up close to little lambs, calves and chickens. There’s something going on all year round – Easter egg hunts in the spring, pumpkin hunts in the fall, hayrides and bonfires.
Tourists can go on a trip around the world (or even back in time), without ever leaving Calgary. Visit the Calgary Zoo, Botanical Garden and Prehistoric Park, where you can see over 1,000 animals in exhibits grouped by continent, explore playgrounds, and see how big a T-rex can get. Have you ever been to the 19th century? Heritage Park is Canada’s largest living historical village, offering over 150 exhibits and interpreters in period dress keen to tell you about prairie life before 1915. Visit the farm animals or go for a ride on a working steam train, a paddle wheeler or an old-fashioned Ferris wheel.
Expand your brainpower with a trip to the TELUS Spark, the New Science Centre, which is the first new science centre in North America in 25 years. A place of inquiry that looks at issues, ideas and concepts related to science, technology and creativity. Experiences are at once serious and playful, reliant on the ingenuity and enthusiasm of the visitors and collaborators to frame learning.
There’s a lot to keep you busy at Shakers Fun Centre even on days when the weather is fine. But if it’s a little chilly or wet out, everyone can have fun in the indoor playground, or with a game of laser tag. If you like heights, there’s a climbing wall, too.
During the warmer months you can zip around the track on go-karts, play mini-golf, or get into a good old-fashioned water fight.
Canmore
Just an hour west of Calgary on Hwy. 1, you’ll find a hub of cultural, artistic, and outdoor events and activities. Travel up the road a little and find yourself in the heart of Kananaskis Country.
Banff
There’s enough to see and do in Banff that it doesn’t matter whether you’re looking for a hard-core outdoor adventure or something more relaxed – you’ll find it here. Visit Bow Falls, explore local museums, or ride a gondola up Sulphur Mountain.
You’ll also find plenty of shops and restaurants along Main Street. And don’t forget your swimsuit, so you can take a relaxing soak in the Upper Hot Springs, too.
Lake Louise
The village of Lake Louise is world-famous for its beauty, and around here we love it for the skiing, hiking, and mountain biking, too.
From the lakeshore, four kilometers (2.5 miles), above the village, you have a breathtaking view of the Victoria Glacier. For the best view of the lake, hike up to Lake Agnes Teahouse (3.5 km). Sample some of the sweets and specialty teas while you’re at it – you’ve earned it!
Visit the Lodge at Lake Louise in the winter and skate on the lake, where you can explore the ice castle and sip hot chocolate with other skaters.
Icefields Parkway
Follow this road between snow-capped mountains to Jasper National Park, and you’ll see over 100 glaciers, numerous lakes and countless waterfalls along the way. At Bow Summit you’ll find one of the most amazing panoramas in the park.
Don’t miss the Weeping Wall, which gets its name from the water seeping through the cracks in the cliff face, which plunges downwards in a series of waterfalls.
Columbia Icefields
The icefields are pretty much that – a gigantic accumulation of snow and ice (the largest south of the Arctic Circle) that feeds eight massive glaciers. Check out the new interpretive centre, which explains how this remnant of the last Ice Age came to be in the first place, and how it’s changed over the centuries. Want to see the real thing up close? Tour the Athabasca Glacier in a giant snowcoach, or take a spectacular helicopter tour to see them from high above.
Jasper
The town of Jasper is another fantastic place to establish a base while you explore the surrounding area. You’ll find luxurious accommodation, restaurants, and shops in town, and plenty of opportunity to hike, ski, mountain bike, and more.
